Define what better means
Keep the task, evaluation measure, and relevant operating conditions close to each model comparison.
RAIN / Software
A proposed workspace for comparing candidates, examining evaluation evidence, and understanding which model is active at a site.
Product direction
01 / THE IDEA
RAIN Runtime already exercises candidate evaluation and model promotion in the simulator. Model Studio is the proposed user-facing workspace around those mechanics. It would help a reviewer connect a model version to its task, evaluation data, and recorded outcome.
Keep the task, evaluation measure, and relevant operating conditions close to each model comparison.
Present a candidate beside the model already in use, including cases where the candidate fails to improve on it.
Make version changes and rejected candidates inspectable without turning a score into a claim of field reliability.
02 / IN PRACTICE
Define the scope, preserve the boundary, and make the outcome something a person can inspect.
Identify the model task and the held-out examples that should test the proposed update.
Review the candidate against the incumbent and look at conditions where their behavior differs.
Check which version remains active and retain the evaluation context for later review.
03 / A FEW DETAILS
No. This page describes a proposed workspace. The simulator-backed runtime mechanics do not establish that the Studio interface is available.
No. Evaluation data and task definition limit what a comparison can establish. Field usefulness and stability still require validation at the intended site.
BUILD WITH RAIN
RAIN is preparing for its first field pilot. Start by defining the environment, the data boundary, and what success should look like.
